Elysia is a clinical psychologist registered in Singapore, having spent years working in the government, social service and public health setting.
In her therapeutic practice, Elysia manages a broad range of mental health concerns including trauma, Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), depression and anxiety.
Elysia believes in helping children and youth to be able to build resilience and growth through their difficult experience, and supports them being able to advocate for themselves. Elysia has a special interest in working with people who have gone through traumatic experiences across different age ranges from children, youths to adults. She has worked extensively with young children to youths who have experienced trauma, and have worked with parents to support their children through this difficult time. She has worked in the community, public health and youth residential setting to support children and youth who have gone through extensive trauma and present with high needs.
Elysia has experience in providing psychotherapy for a range of individuals depending on their individual needs, She utilises therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Trauma Systems Therapy (TST), Attacment-Focused Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (AF-EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialetical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Triple P Positive Parenting Intervention (Level 4) for adolescents, and mindfulness-based approaches to provide an appropriate modality for each individual. Beyond clinical intervention, Elysia views the therapeutic space as a safe space to contain and hold client’s difficulties. With openness and curiosity, she hopes to be able to build a safe therapeutic relationship that would allow her to partner with each individual on their journey, to live a life that is in line with their values. She also believes in helping clients to empower themselves to work towards their own self-acceptance and independence.
She has experience in conducting psychological assessment for children and adolescents (e.g., WISC-V) to facilitate placement for special education.
Outside of her professional commitments, Elysia enjoys taking walks in parks, looking for good food and cherishes quality time with family and friends.
